Well, with the growing sense of religious belief all over, are we loosing basic human facts of life? I asked myself this question quite some time ago, when once I was on a street in London, Waiting for a friend. As usual I was listening to music with my headphones on.
I like listening to music with big headphones which have noise cancellation. Alright so I was waiting at Edgware road near marble arch and was quite close to a shop which was selling some Islamic books and Quran Cd’s and medicines.
A few minutes later a guy who was constantly staring at me walks up and asks me weather I am a Muslim, I said yeah, and he insisted me to stop playing the songs on my ipod and listen to quranic verses as listening to music is “haram” (forbidden) in the quran.
I was shocked, and was speechless, that is religion gonna decide what kind of shirt I am gonna wear next???. It is pointless to argue on religion, and I hate to argue on it. Well the only thing that fueled me up and still does is that , why do people become so narrow minded and do not apply logic when it comes to faith and belief, I know its unquestionable, when discussing something so sensitive & as its something really personal. But yet, some kind of sense is really appreciated rather than blind belief/faith…
